Overview Of Online Safety
1. Don’t Use Your Phone for ANY financially related transactions, Period! It doesn’t matter what kind of phone you’re using; this is never a good idea! Instead, use either a laptop or desktop computer with Linux installed, rather than Windows, for all of your financial transactions! Please don’t use a Chromebook laptop because it’s very inflexible, unsafe (since Google designed it), and challenging to maintain. And by the way, using a Windows computer for financial transactions is many, many times MORE dangerous than using a phone! This online safety information is essential! 2. Don’t allow any browser to “save your passwords”. And don’t add any extension to your browser that is designed to save passwords! Instead, you should learn to use a “Password Manager”! My favorite password manager is called KeePassXC, and it has versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux. And by the way…NEVER store your passwords in a plain text file on your computer! Most password managers encrypt the password database, and this is a necessary thing to do!
BAD BIOS Can Ruin Your Day!
3. Don’t buy any laptop or desktop computer that contains a “BAD VERSION” of BIOS! This includes any BIOS that contains a Windows serial number or Activation Key, any BIOS that does not support “Legacy Booting” instead of UEFI, and any BIOS that does not allow Linux to be installed. You should also be aware that Best Buy routinely adds a BIOS password that they don’t share with you, so you must return to them for any and all repairs. This makes Best Buy a poor choice for buying your computer system!

4. At least one Desktop PC, running Linux, not Windows, should be available in every home! It’s much better not to buy a computer monitor! Instead, use a 43″ 4K TV as your “monitor”! If you MUST use Facebook or any other social media, then limit yourself to people you KNOW! Limit yourself to people to whom you would be willing to hand a loaded gun! If you think I’m kidding, then you are in for a LOT of trouble! Use WhatsApp only for communication with family, close relatives, very close friends, and/or clients in your own business! And if you have any business that requires you to use social media, then “keep it business, not personal”!
